Breather Valve

Introduction to Pitambara Engineering Breather Valve
Pitambara Engineering is a trusted name in precision-engineered solutions for industrial applications, offering products that ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance. Among its range of specialized products is the Breather Valve, a critical device designed to regulate pressure in storage tanks and prevent potential damage caused by excessive pressure or vacuum conditions. The breather valve is essential for safeguarding equipment and maintaining process integrity in industries handling volatile or sensitive materials.
What is a Breather Valve?
A Breather Valve, also known as a pressure/vacuum relief valve, is a safety device installed on storage tanks to protect them from over-pressurization or vacuum conditions. It allows the controlled release or intake of air or gas when the pressure or vacuum in the tank exceeds the preset limits, thereby maintaining the structural integrity of the tank.
Key Features of Pitambara Engineering Breather Valve
- Precise Pressure and Vacuum Regulation:
- Maintains the pressure and vacuum within safe operational limits, ensuring the protection of storage tanks.
- Robust Construction:
- Made from high-quality materials like stainless steel, aluminum, or other corrosion-resistant alloys, suitable for handling aggressive chemicals and environments.
- Customizable Design:
- Available in various pressure and vacuum settings to meet specific operational requirements.
- Flame Arrestor Integration:
- Optional flame arrestors provide added safety by preventing the propagation of external flames into the tank.
- Leak-Tight Performance:
- Engineered with precision to ensure minimal leakage, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.
- Low Maintenance Design:
- Simple, durable design minimizes maintenance requirements and ensures long service life.
How a Breather Valve Works
The breather valve operates by allowing the controlled release of vapor or air when the internal pressure of the tank exceeds the preset pressure setting. Similarly, it permits the intake of air when the vacuum level goes beyond the preset vacuum setting. This prevents the tank from deforming due to pressure or vacuum build-up during filling or emptying operations or due to temperature changes.

Would you like further details on specifications, installation guidelines, or customization options?
- During installation, tank shuld be completely empty.
- There should be no objects which shall hinder the float.
- Ensure that the float position inside the tank should be such that agitation on it will be minimum.
- The position of mounting nozzle should be far away from the liquid fill pipe to protect the float from damage and faulty readings due to turbulence.
- Ensure that tank structures / fittings do not come in the way of calibrated gauges boards
- Instruments required- Welding machine, combination/crimping plier, spanner and adjustable.
- Even with large changes in liquid density, the immersion of a large diameter float will change very little, thus density has little effect on accuracy.
- Float systems are simple and easily understood.
- Even if the primary requirement is the transmitted signal, local indicators can continue to operate, even on loss of power.

- Low Maintenance
- Economical Measurement Solution
- Easy Mounting
- Assured Level Indication without power supply
